Welcome Letters 2011

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I am happy to welcome exhibitors and guests of the 6th Mangystau Regional Oil, Gas & Infrastructure Exhibition and the 3rd Mangystau Regional Oil & Gas Technology Exhibition - OILTECH Mangystau!

This year of 2011 is especially important for Kazakhstan as it will mark the 20th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and several anniversaries in the oil and gas sector: the centennial of Dossor Field, the fiftieth anniversary of Mangystau oil, and the twenty-fifth anniversary of Kumkol Field.

To date, Kazakhstan is one of the leading Eurasian countries, and the successfully developing oil and gas industry takes a dominant lead in the process of enhancing the country’s international and regional stability.

The Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure Exhibition and OILTECH Mangystau Conference were designed as a specialised platform to exchange experience, address pressing issues in the region, and hold meetings between manufacturers, consumers and investors.

The mission of those events is to visually demonstrate the latest achievements in the oil and gas sector of the region, offer an extensive exchange of experience, introduce advanced and innovative technologies, and discover new opportunities for cooperation between foreign and local companies.

May all participants and guests of the exhibition and conference enjoy a constructive work, success and prosperity!

Sauat Mukhametbayevich Mynbayev
Minister of Oil and Gas,
Republic of Kazakhstan

Dear Exhibitors
of the 6th Regional Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure Exhibition
and the 3rd OilTech Mangystau Technology Conference

The traditional Regional Oil, Gas & Infrastructure Exhibition and OilTechMangystau Technology Conference are an integral part of Mangystau Oblast residents’ business lives.

This region with a booming economy is of an ever increasing interest for foreign companies and investors. This is why the geographic representation and the number of participants of the regional exhibition and technology conference keep growing.

Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that “oil, as a principal resource of global economy, becomes the energy basis for our civilisation.” And this is truly so. Most major projects in the region are in a way connected with the oil and gas sector. A vivid example of that is implementation of a mega project, Earth – Sea – Sky, in the Oblast. Local and foreign oil companies such as KazMunaiGas, NSOS, Agip KCO, etc. take an active part in onshore infrastructure development projects in order to carry out Phase II of the Kashagan Project, exploration in Block N, development of the petrochemical industry, etc. Figuratively speaking, Mangystau Oblast can be compared with a big apple, the oil and gas sector being its core. When cutting this red-ripe fruit you get equal mouth-watering segments – the region’s economic sectors which include infrastructural and industrial development, tourism and agriculture, construction and fishery, supply of goods and services, and training of engineers and workers.

The peninsula on the Caspian Sea possesses a huge potential and promising outlooks, which provides a good incentive for cooperation between Kazakhstan and foreign companies.

May all exhibitors and guests enjoy a constructive work at the exhibition and conference! I wish you an effective cooperation and interesting ideas!

Krymbek Kusherbayev
