On behalf of the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I am pleased to welcome the exhibitors and visitors of Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure 2012, the 7th Mangystau Regional Oil, Gas & Infrastructure Exhibition.
It is difficult to overestimate the significance of Western Kazakhstan and the Mangystau Region in the country’s political and economic life. In this regard, the role of the Mangystau Region as one of the main oil and gas producing regions is particularly important. Currently, a range of innovative projects in the extractive and processing industrial sectors are being carried out. Alongside this, the Mangystau Region occupies an important position in strengthening cooperation between countries of the Caspian region.
The above is again testified to by the constantly growing interest in oil and gas events taking place here. It is encouraging to note that Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure grows every year, as does the geographical range of its exhibitors.
I hope that the Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure exhibition, which has become a tradition since its launch, will once again be a platform for leading domestic and international companies to showcase their achievements and a place where long-term, mutually beneficial contracts are signed.
I am confident that this exhibition, as a key event in the region, will make a positive contribution to the further development of the Mangystau Region by attracting the attention of Kazakhstani and international companies and investors.

Dear exhibitors of the 7th Regional Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure Exhibition,
I will be delighted to welcome you to the exhibition, the holding of which has already become a firm tradition in our region. The broad geographical range and daily increasing number of exhibitors without a doubt demonstrate the steady interest towards the development of our region.
It is no secret that the oil industry is the undoubted leader of the country’s economy and of the Mangystau Region’s economy as well. The region is responsible for a third of the hydrocarbon resources extracted in the country. The high scientific and technological level of production, a modern qualified workforce, and effective management of the industry guarantee the successful transformation taking place in the region’s oil industry.
This is why it is important for us to know about and follow the developments and projects in the oil and gas extraction sector, and to learn from positive experiences. This is the objective served by the exhibition, which offers a unique opportunity for companies and organisations to present the newest development and technologies to a wide audience, establish direct business contacts, and solve business development challenges. This will without a doubt contribute to the confident and rapid growth of the oil industry and hasten innovative processes.
I would like to underline the fact that the Mangystau Region is always prepared to participate in all major oil and gas industry projects, in terms of both supplying goods and services and providing qualified engineering-technical and operational staff, as well as developing infrastructure. Working together in these aspects will open up excellent prospects for joint work involving domestic and international companies and for bringing in new technologies and projects.
